Non-resident Nepalis Elect Lamichhane A New President

October 15, 2011: the fifth Non-resident Nepali (NRN) Global Conference has unanimously elected Jibanath Lamichhane to the office of president of Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) for the next two years on Friday, October 14, 2011, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes.
Devman Hirachan has pulled out his candidacy for the office of the president of NRNA making Lamichhane a single contender at the last moment stating to preserve the unity of the organization. Hirachan has been the president of NRNA for the past two years. His performers had been much to be desired.
Newly elected president Lamichhane has said that electing him unanimously to the president, the NRNA has maintained the unity and cooperation among the members. He also has pledged to achieve the objectives of the NRNA.
Some 700 delegates from 57 countries have participated in the conference. The conference has adopted the 17-point Kathmandu declaration on the concluding day: Friday, October 14, 2011.
NRN delegates discussed the possible areas of investment in Nepal and the possibility of not loosing their citizenships. They have not ask for anything more than keeping the citizenships they already have, as some other countries allow their citizens to do so.
