Revenue Loss Due to Shutdown Of Parsa Administration

November 30, 2009, the state employees in the Parsa district have continued the indefinite shutdown of the administration in the Parsa protesting against the Minister of State for Agriculture and Cooperative Karima Begam slapping the Chief District Officer. They have demanded strong actions against the culprit. The government of Madhav Nepal has not taken it seriously and has been in the mood of covering up the felony of the State Minister stating she has already apologize and no need for any actions against her. However, the concerned state employees have been up against the government going on strike in protest against the government not taking action against the State Minister.

The shutdown of the administration has cost the government the loss of millions of rupees worth of revenue daily, as the Custom Office remain idle in Birgunj. In addition, the local people have not received any government services in the Parsa district, as the state employees have refused any service delivery in protest against the Minster of State slapping the Chief District Officer.
