March 29, 2010: Forum for Consumers’ Rights Protection (FCRP) has filed a lawsuit at the Supreme Court of Nepal on Sunday, March 28, 2010, against Prime Minister Madhav Nepal, Home Minister, Education Minister, Health Minister, Dean of Tribhuvan University Teach Hospital (TUTH), and Campus Chief of the TUTH, and the doctors and graduate students for shutting down the services at the TUTH. The Supreme Court of Nepal has decided to start hearing on this case on Monday, March 29, 2010.
Graduate students have shut down all services at the TUTH since March 14, 2010 demanding the cancellation of the entrance examinations held one day before stating the Campus authorities have leaked out the questions for money, and hence demanding the resignations of the Dean and the Campus chief.
On March 26, 2010, the Tribhuvan University administration has annulled the entrance examinations held on March 13 but the graduate students have continued to hold on to their demand for resignations of the campus authorities. Vice-chancellor of the Tribhuvan University does not see any wrong doings of the Dean and the Campus Chief.
