By KTM Metro Reporter

March 12, 2012: speaking at the meeting of the Constitutional Committee at Singha Durbar yesterday, Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has said that he would complete the peace process and the constitution writing even though some party leaders have been standing in the way to complete these nationally important tasks in an attempt on making his government a failure; Prime Minister Bhattarai also has urged these leaders not to stand in the way to completing the noble tasks of peace process and constitution writing rather create an environment conducive to the government perform efficiently, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes.

Dr Bhattarai has bashed the opposition leaders for not performing themselves at the same time not allowing others to perform but always doing something to breaking and making a government hindering the national interest in completing the most important tasks of the peace process and the constitution writing. However, Prime Minister Bhattarai has said that he would not back track from completing these two tasks no matter what other leaders try to do.

He also has said that the political leaders would be accountable if they don’t allow the government to complete the peace process and the constitution writing, and the people would judge them for such undesirable act of treason.

"There is no possibility to promulgate the constitution by May 27. If new environment of agreement does not emerge, getting a new constitution has slim possibility even after May 27. Bringing change in the tendencies of the political parties and the way in which agreements are forged can reverse the situation. ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today quotes Chairman of Constitutional Committee Nilamber Acharya.

Vice-president of NC Ram Chandra Poudel has said that Dr Bhattarai has blamed the opposition parties for not creating a suitable environment in the meeting; however, opposition parties are ready to cooperate with the Prime Minister if past agreements are honestly implemented, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes.

CPN-UML Lawmaker Bhim Rawal has said that chances of making a new constitution within the deadline of May 27, 2012 have been slim; it is the creation of the government not of the opposition parties even though the prime minister has blamed the opposition for this situation.

President of NC Sushil Koirala yesterday claimed that the tasks of peace and constitution drafting processes would be concluded within seven days if a national consensus government was formed under the leadership of his party, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes. However, NC President Koirala did not bother to explain to the public how he could make it possible when the time had been already short of doing so if all the procedures were to follow.
