Calling CPN-UML To Join A Consensual Government

Issue 20, May 13, 2012

By KTM Metro Reporter

May 8, 2012: the current government has been in limbo after the CPN-UML refused to join it. Leaders of UCPN-Maoist and NC asked the leaders of the third party CPN-UML to join the government following the five-point deal they had signed off on May 03, 2012. The current government is the coalition of UCPN-Maoist, NC and UDMF; they want the CPN-UML to join them.

The CPN-UML has set the condition for joining the government that the Prime Minister should correct his mistakes in allocating ministerial portfolios without consulting it according to ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today.

The Prime Minister pledged to correct mistakes of not consulting the CPN-UML to pave the way for the CPN-UML candidates to join his government and to make his government of four major parties.

At the same time, Chairman of CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal met with President Dr Ram Baran Yadav at the presidential office at Shital Niwas today and held talks about the current political events such as the five-point deal reached among the political parties, formation of a national unity government, completion of the peace process and the constitution writing.

Speaking to the official of his Home Ministry, Deputy Prime Minister Bijaya Gacchedar said that the five-point agreement reached among the four parties is for resolving the contested issues of a new constitution and completing the ongoing peace process.
