March 27, Thursday: On the Wednesday’s election for the three-year term executive office of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Kush Kumar Joshi beat the incumbent president Chandi Raj Dhakal. Mr. Dhakal had been in the local press for not paying taxes. He did not report to the tax office following the notice served by the tax office rather went underground to avoid the arrest. Later on, he was bailed out and possibly was cleared of the charges. Mr. Joshi has fought the election on making the FNCCI leadership free from taints, and won it.
