Another Attempted Murder At Lazimpat

March 3, 2010: unidentified two people riding on a motorcycle have attempted on the life of Nagender K Pampaty associated with the College of Medical Sciences in Bharatpur in the Chitwan district at Lazimpat in Kathmandu at around 6.30 pm on Tuesday, March 2, 2010. However, Mr. Pampaty escaped from the attack unhurt.

The police have cordoned off the area immediately but have not arrested anyone so far. About a month ago, similarly, two people had shot dead media entrepreneur Jamim Shah at the same street but the police have not been able to arrest the killers.

In Janakpur after killing publisher of ‘Janakpur Today’ Arun Singhaniya on March 1, 2010, on March 2, 2010, the criminals have threatened to kill editor of ‘Janakpur Today’ Brij Kumar Yadav within a week.

Prime Minister Madhav Nepal and His Home Minister Bhim Rawal have been unable to protect the lives and property of the citizenry. In the meeting with the Prime Minister, President of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Kush Kumar Joshi and Chairman of Nepal Chambers of Commerce (NCC) Surendra Bir Malakar have demanded either the government protect their lives and property or let them have their own-armed security.
