Widespread Snowfalls In Mountains And Rains In Hills of Nepal
By KTM Metro Reporter
January 3, 2012: the westerly wind that has been bringing moisture to Nepal has been causing widespread snowfalls in the Nepalese Himalayan region and rains in the hills. Most of the northern mountain region of Nepal has been covered with thick snow since Sunday forcing the people either to remain at home or quickly to migrate to the warmer lowland to escape the cold from the continuous snowfalls.
Rainfalls in the hills have brought farmers to happiness, as they have sufficient rains for the winter crops. So, they don’t mind having cold for a few days. This is the time of year for farmers sowing corn and millets in the hills of Nepal.
In Kathmandu, people are not happy with the cold weather caused by drizzling, as they have no electricity and gas to warm up. So, without sun, they have to live in cold homes. They have been waited for sun to come out and warm up their bodies.
