Manang Ready For Ski Training

Kathmandu: The Ski & Snowboarding Foundation is holding a six-day ski-training course for the rescuers from avalanches with seven trainers from the US, Germany, Italy, Austria and Israel on a slope located 5,000 meters above the sea level in Manang along the renowned Annapurna Circuit: the prime tourist destination starting on September 14, the RSS news on therisingnepal.org.np stated today.

 

Speaking to the RSS, Foundation's Chairman: Utsav Pathak said that the six-day training course on rescue operations in the event of avalanches and skiing would start on September 14; the team of trainers left for Manang on Saturday.

 

A team of eight trainees including one from Malaysia is participating in the training. The training will be on skiing skills, and the methods of rescue operations. The skiing gears will be provided free.

 

Foundation's Treasurer: Suraj Kafle has said that the training is held in view of enhancing the tourism on the trek route attracting foreign visitors as many as possible and domestic visitors in skiing.
