February 28, 2013: speaking at the press conference held by the Revolutionary Reporters Association Kaski in Pokhara yesterday, chairman of UCPN-Maoist has said that in the current political situation, a government presided over by the Chef Justice is the only alternative; the country needs to break the political deadlock; therefore, a government led by the Chief Justice is the common agenda of all; it will hold elections, and the elections will break the political stalemate, according to the ‘gorkhapatra’ news of today.
Concerning the opposition of the Nepal Bar Association to the formation of a government led by the Chief Justice, Chairman Prachanda said that the politics shows the way to the law not the other way round. Only the political consensus could break the political deadlock no matter what the constitution and the law say.
Concerning the writ filed at the Supreme Court of Nepal against the formation of a government led by the Chief Justice, Chairman Prachanda said that the ruling of the Supreme Court would be for the formation of a government. To the question if the ruling would be against it, Chairman Prachanda said that don’t get scarred; sky will not fall.
The current government would continue until the ruling of the Supreme Court of Nepal on the formation of a new government headed by the Chief Justice, said chairman Prachanda, according to the ‘gorkhapatra’ news of today. Chairman Prachanda with his spouse is holidaying in Pokhara.
Talking to the journalists at the Biratnagar Airport yesterday, Deputy Prime Minister holding the portfolio of Home Affairs Bijaya Kumar Gacchedar said that there was no alternative to the government led by incumbent chief justice (CJ) Khila Raj Regmi in the absence of consensus on political leadership. “The government under the CJ is also necessary to institutionalize the past achievements,” said DPM Gacchedar, adding that CJ Khila Raj Regmi had agreed to lead the government to rescue the country from political crisis, according to Gorkhapatraonline.com news of today.
