Possibility Of Reaching Agreement On Reviving CA

September 1, 2012: Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda today claimed that the major political parties have been close to an agreement on the reinstatement of the dissolved CA, and hoped that the major political parties would reach an agreement on this matter within two days or so to end current political impasse, according to nepalnews.com. Chairman Prachanda also said that if the major political parties could not reach an agreement on reinstating the dissolved CA within a few days, they would dwell on an election to a new CA.
Speaking at the Central Working Committee of NC, some CWC members doubted that the UCPN-Maoist would build a national consensus rather it might the trick; so, they stressed the need for ensuring the UCPN-Maoist would accept the NC-led government otherwise the UCPN-Maoist was simply prolonging its stay in power. However, General Secretary of NC Prakash Man Singh before leaving for New Delhi, India said that the CA could be revived only for a week to promulgate a new constitution otherwise only fresh elections to a new CA would be left to the political parties, according to thehimalayantimes.com.
