Decisions Of Four-party Political Mechanism

July 18, 2013: at the meeting of the four-party political mechanism presided over by chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda has made some decisions on writing to the dissident political parties to have talks, and on requesting the government for providing medical assistance to former Prime Minster Marichman Singh. Chairman Prachanda took over office of the coordinator of the four-party political mechanism in turn on July 16, 2013 for a month.

 

Following the decisions of the four-party political mechanism, letters inviting the dissident political parties to dialogue have been sent. Acknowledging the receipt of the letter, talking to the reporter of the Radio Nepal, spokeswoman for CPN-Maoist Pampha Bhusal said that her party along with other dissident political parties would hold talks with the four political parties according to the news aired by the Radio Nepal at 7:00 am on July 18, 2013.

 

At the meeting of the four-party political mechanism, leaders of the four major political parties have made a commitment to complete the crafting of a new constitution within a year of the completion of the elections to a new Constituent Assembly. They have done so to redeem the lost credibility of the political leaders and their parties. They also have committed to hold the elections to a new Constituent Assembly as scheduled.

 

The four parties have decided to request the government for providing former Prime Minster Marichman Singh with the necessary resources required for treating his lung cancer stating such a prominent person should not suffer from the lack of resources for treatment. Family members of former Prime Minster Marichman Singh have publicly requested the government for the support for treating his disease. He is currently in India for treatment.
