Issue 26, June 26, 2011

BY KTM Metro Reporter

June 22, 2011: students affiliated to the CPN-UML have held new students’ reception into the campus at the Amrit Campus yesterday morning; suddenly a group of students allegedly belonging to Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal has attacked the students belonging to the KP Oli, injuring several students and damaging the vehicle belonging to the chief guest Pradeep Gyawali, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes.

The confrontation between the two groups of the students affiliated to the same CPN-UML has lasted almost a whole day yesterday causing the roadblock and consequently the traffic jam around the area of the Amrit Campus.

Are these guys are really students or the gangsters hired by the political leaders? Students don’t go for the gang fight. They might fight for a political ideology. So, these guys must be gangsters rather than students.

One of the student leaders have even alleged that some members of YCL affiliated to the Maoists have been involved in the fighting but the YCL has denied any involvement in the fighting of the two groups of the CPN-UML.

Some political analysts say that Nepalese political leaders have criminalized the politics; consequently, none of the political leaders could survive the political leadership without the support of the criminal groups.
