Prime Minister Speaking on Various Subjects

On January 02, 2008, speaking at the public meetings held at different places in Nepal Prime Minister Prachanda said that his government would set up local governments and then sent the budget to them to run development projects at the local level in a few days.

Referring to the current economic doldrums, the Prime Minister said that the current economic conditions and the state of power-cuts were the results of the two-hundred-year Shah rule then the Rana rule and after that the corrupt rule in the country, and his government was determined to move the country forward.

Referring to the Young Communist League (YCL) of his party, the Prime Minister said that the YCL was the backbone of his party; so, even if its offices would be removed from the State-owned buildings it would be strengthened in towns and villages. He also said that he had not signed any deal undermining the YCL.
