New Initiative In New Nepal

Issue 33, August 14, 2011

By KTM Metro Reporter

August 11, 2011: kudos for the work of Energy Minister Gokarna Bista on snapping the electric wire connected to the Department of Roads at Babar Mahal and other state offices in Kathmandu and in towns across the country for not paying the electricity bills. This is the first act in building a new Nepal.

Minister Bista has hired a new executive to the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) at the cost of Rs 250,000 per month to manage it. So, the new executive should be able to manage the multi-billion-rupee-company NEA effectively to justify the high remuneration paid to him. Minister Bista has quit the position of the chairperson of the NEA to avoid the political influences on the business of the company.

Nepalis will surely appreciate the good work done by Minister Bista and his name will be written in golden letters in the history of the NEA business if not in the Nepalese administration. Nepal needs such young blood to run the administration.
