High Orange Production In Eastern Nepal

December 2, 2013: The orange production has increased by 30 percent in the mountain areas of eastern Nepal this year, according to the Agricultural Product Market Center, Dharan. The orange production has increased due to good weather and over 15 to 20 metric tons of oranges are sold daily, according to the RSS news on ‘gorkhapatraonline.com’.

 

The center has been exporting oranges to India, Bhutan and Bangladesh. Forty percent of the production goes to India, Bhutan and Bangladesh from the center, said Kaji Giri, chairman at the center. Nepalese orange is tasty and popular in India, Bangladesh and Bhutan, Giri said.
