By KTM Metro Reporter
April 7, 2013: Chairman of CPN-Maoist-Vaidhya must have been very proud of his cadres he unleashed to enforce the shutdown declared by him today across Nepal as the protest against the government he has labeled as unconstitutional but he probably did not realize or ignored the violence of the rights of 30 million Nepalese to travel without hindrance. It is a gross human rights violence Chairman Vaidhya would be subject to answer in the court of law one day in the future.
Chairman Vaidhya also should know how much loss the Nepalese make by his call for shutdown. Nepal loses Rs 2.5 billion per shutdown according to the study report of the Federation of Nepal Chambers of Commerce and Industry. Every industry and business has been the victims of shutdowns. Nepal-bound tourists have cancelled their bookings since Chairman Vaidhya has started off calling one shutdown after another.
Today also, the entire country stood silent except for the Vaidhya Maoists singing and dancing after enforcing the shutdown the business of the 30 million Nepalese. Students had to walk to Kirtipur in Kathmandu to take the bachelors’ examination given by the TU today thanks to Chairman Vaidhya and his cadres that had ruthlessly enforced the shutdown.
Outgoing international visitors had to take rickshaws to travel to the airports, the incoming also had to take the same for going to the hotels. Chairman Vaidhya should know how much inconvenience he had caused to our guests.
Maoist cadres set fire on the vehicles that had unknowingly defied the shutdown called by Chairman Vaidhya. They also vandalized the press vehicles that were supposed to travel without hindrance. Cadres had gone wild at the success of enforcing the shutdown. They sang and danced on the roads.
