House Session Runs Smoothly

Issue 21, May 20, 2012

By KTM Metro Reporter

May 18, 2012: the House sessions has run smoothly after Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai told the lawmakers in the parliament that the deal the UCPN-Maoist, NC and CPN-UML reached on 11 provinces is subject to revision. The House session started off after 4 hours of delay today after the statement of the prime minister.

Yesterday, lawmakers belonging to the Madheshi alliance and the Vaidya faction of UCPN-Maoist stopped the House session rejecting the deal on 11 provinces the UCPN-Maoist, NC and CPN-UML reached without names and geographical boundaries of provinces.

Chairman of UCPN-Maoist explained to the UDMF leaders that his party reached the deal on 11 provinces under the insistence of the NC and CPN-UML. Chairman Prachanda made the damage-control talks with the Madheshi leaders when the UDMF leaders mulled to quit the government and the Constituent Assembly in protest against the deal on 11 provinces without names and geographical boundaries.

Chairman Prachanda has been the expert in making mistakes and then in controlling the damage done by such mistakes. His skills in damage control have put him above all the political leaders in Nepal, and has been able to maintain his status as the top leader.
