By KTM Metro Reporter

November 18, 2011: various technical teams sent by the Army Integration Special Committee (AISC) have reached different cantonments to start off regrouping the Maoist combatants. ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes. They will start off regrouping combatants on Saturday, November 19, 2011.

Combatants can choose any one of the three packages such as integration into the Nepal Army, training package of Rs 600,000 to 900,000, and retirement with the cash of Rs 500,000 to 800,000. Combatants have 24 hours to decide in which group they want to be.

If they choose integration into the Nepal Army they need to pass through the standard set by the Nepal Army, in case if they fail then they have to choose any one of the two remaining packages. The maximum number of combatants to be integrated into the Nepal Army has been set at 6,500 out of more than 19,000 combatants.

They can choose the training package and enhance their skill and become eligible for the better-paid jobs or simply collect the cash given for retirement and retire to civilian lives.
