Irregularities In Purchasing Goods For Peace Keeping force

On October 15, 2009, after the return from participating in the Interpol convention in Singapore on Wednesday night, speaking to the reporters in the press conference held at the Ministry of Home, Home Minister Bhim Rawal has said that some people have questioned about the irregularities in purchasing goods for the Nepal Peace Keeping Force under the UN at the 78th Convention of Interpol, the Nepalese legislature has set up a sub-committee to investigate the irregularities, and the police officials responsible for  irregularities will be punished according to the state-run newspaper ‘Gorkhapatra’ of October 16, 2009.

The UN has not reimbursed about Rs 2 billions for the purchase of vehicles and equipment as those vehicles and equipment have been unusable. The police office has used the money drawing from the Police Welfare Fund.
