Issue 45, November 07, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter

November 04, 2010: senior leaders of the three major parties: UCPN-Maoist, NC and CPN-UML have sat together for several times to break the current political deadlock. All of them agree on the need for working on the consensus politics but none of them works to this end.

They have also sat together on November 03, 2010 to sort out their differences but they could not reach to any agreement; Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda has even told the senior leaders of NC and CPN-UML to form a majority government but Chairman of CPN-UML Jhalanath Khanal has reiterated to form a consensus government, as the majority government will not be able to work, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of November 04, 2010 writes.

At the same time, speaking at the function of opening the 4th District Convention of Nepal Press Union, Kanchanpur in Bhimduttanagar, leader of NC Krishna Prasad Sitaula has said that the consensus politics has not worked so far because of the strategic plan of the leaders of the UCPN-Maoist to capture the sate power; so they don’t want to integrate their combatants, empty the cantonments, and return the seized property to rightful owners, consequently, the peace process has not completed; the consensus politics will not work as long as they don’t give up the lust for power; he has also said that the prime ministerial candidate of his party has continued to run the race to bring the Maoists to the right track and conclude the peace process, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of November 04, 2010 writes.

UCPN-Maoist leader Dev Gurung has said that he caretaker government can neither bring the full-fledged budget nor can it call the meeting of the Constitutional Council (CC), ‘The Rising Nepal’ of November 04, 2010 writes and quotes him, "We have come to the conclusion that it will be unconstitutional move of the caretaker government if it presents a full-fledged budget and calls the meeting of the CC." "Anyone can be made an instrument for conspiracy, because of the present critical situation, we should be serious about our national existence."

The 16th round of election to a new Prime Minister has ended without electing the only candidate on Thursday, November 04, 2010 making it clear that the NC candidate is running the election race not for getting elected to a Prime Minister but for working against the consensus politics and to bring the Maoists on the right track as leader of NC Situala has said.

After the 16th round of prime ministerial election today afternoon, talking to the reporters, senior leader of NC Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that he has been very concerned with the officiating Prime Minister Madhav Nepal saying leaders of the political parties should request the President for taking the reign if they fail to break the deadlock at the earliest at the meeting of leaders of the three major parties: UCPN-Maoist, NC and CPN-UML held at his office yesterday, nepalnews.com writes.

Talking to the reporters in Chitwan today, another leader of NC Minister Bal Krishn Khad has said that the Prime Minister has spoken irresponsibly and he cannot ask the President for taking the reign following any constitutional provisions, nepalnews.com writes.

Mr. officiating Prime Minister Madhav Nepal has once again disclosed his dirty picture to the public stating the most undemocratic and unconstitutional thing to do in other words he wants another coup in Nepal. He has recently met with the so-called political guru Narayan Man Bijukchhe at his home in Bhaktapur and must have learned from him to do the most unconstitutional thing in the world. Chairman of Nepal Workers and Peasants’ Party Narayan Man Bijukchhe has been advocating for the presidential rule for some time.
