Another Deal This Time Supplementary One

Issue 08, February 20, 2011

By KTM Metro Reporter

February 16, 2011: Chairmen of UCPN-Maoist and CPN-UML have signed yet another deal this time supplementary to the Seven-point Deal they have signed on February 03, 2011 just before the election to a new prime minister at the parliament. The Seven-point deal has provoked protests from all other political leaders including some of the CPN-UML leaders, as if the alliance between UCPN-Maoist and CPN-UML would finished them off even though both the chairmen have assured the public of the deal is for completing the peace process and the writing of a new constitution. Some of the leaders have even said that it is disastrous to democracy but NC senior leader and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has appreciated the Seven-point Deal and has said that political leaders should let it work for completing the peace process and the writing of a new constitution.

After singing off the deal supplementary to the Seven-point Deal on Tuesday, February 15, 2011, both the leaders of UCPN-Maoist and CPN-UML have committed to keep the spirit of the Seven-point Deal for completing the peace process and the writing of a constitution. They have also assured of working on the consensus politics but it is only a trick to veil the reality of not possibility of any kind of consensus on anything. So, they have no choice to the two-thirds majority; they need to say so publicly.
