Marking 290th Anniversary Of Founder Of Despotic Shah Rule In Nepal

issue 03, January 15, 2012

By KTM Metro Reporter

January 12, 2012: some of the fans of the Shah dynastic rule that had kept Nepalis in general in poverty and destitute for 240 years have marked the 290the anniversary of Prithvi Narayan Shah that had cut the noses and ears of the Kirtipurians because they had strongly stood against his invasion.

The fans of the Shah rule went to garland the black statue of Prithvi at the Singha durbar in Kathmandu yesterday and paid their emotional tribute to him on the occasion of the 290th anniversary of the cruelest humans that had born on this planet. Most probably these guys have still the taste of the juicy bones they had chewed during the Shah reign. Naturally, they want to go back to the same despotic rule for having a few bones thrown by the rulers.

These fans of the Shah rule say that Nepalis have the current Nepal because of Prithvi. That is totally wrong notion. We would have better and bigger Nepal than what we have today who knows?

Our fathers and forefathers would not have needed to live in destitute and in subjection of those few fans of the Shah rulers that was for sure if they were not under the Shah rule. Because of the 240-year long despotic rule of the Shah, Nepal has been one of the poorest countries in the world. These fans want to keep Nepal in poverty going back to the Shah rule only to enjoy the taste of a few bones thrown at them by the absolute rulers.

These fans going to revere the Statue of the Shah ruler Prithvi is not surprising but the most surprising is that the NC leaders that have been deposed by the Shah rulers twice in 1960 and 2005 have been glorifying Prithvi is the most surprising. Mahendra had thrown the elected NC government killing democracy in 1960 and then Gyanendra took over from the elected NC government in 2005 making the parliamentary system of governance a failure.

These fans of the Statue of Prithvi have the rights to revere him in the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal but they should be mindful not to hurt the millions of the Nepalis that have suffered from the poverty, malnutrition, diseases and destitute due to the 240-year long Shah rule reminding the people of the past absolute rule of the Shahs.
