Ram Prasad Shrestha For Chief Justice

March 26, 2010: Parliamentary Special Inquiry Committee has completed the hearing on the recommendation of Senior Justice Ram Prasad Shrestha for the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Nepal on March 25, 2010, and endorsed his name for the position. He will hold the position of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Nepal after the President formally appoints him to the position.
Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Nepal Anup Raj Sharma has retired from the position of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Nepal on March 25, 2010 following the age-limit that is 65 years of age for the position of the Chief Justice. So, most of the Chief Justices of the Supreme Court of Nepal serve only for a few years if not for a few months, as they become Chef Justices at the more advanced age.
