Possibility Of Consensus On Forming A New Government

January 24, 2011: speaking at a function held by the Revolutionary Journalists Association in Hetauda on January 23, 2011, Chairman of UCPN-Maoist has said that the possibility of a government led by the UCPN-Maoist has increased after transferring the People Liberation Army (PLA) to the Army Integration Special Committee (AISC); and the leaders of the NC and CPN-UML have also been favoring a consensus government, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of January 24, 2011 writes.

At the same time, talking to Chief of Carter Center Nepal Peter Berley, President of NC Sushil Koirala has also said that the possibility of a consensus government has enhanced after the transfer of the PLA to the AISC, and the peace process has moved one step forward. However, Mr. Koirala has cautioned him that Maoists need to comply with the previous agreements to make the consensus politics possible.
