President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav Thanks For Honor

December 25, 2012: speaking at the convocation held at the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) today to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya: Founder of the university, President Dr Ram Baran Yadav thanked the University for conferring the Doctor of Letters on him, and said Varanasi has been a key link and source of cultural bonding between the two neighboring countries, according to the news posted on ndtv.com today.
President Dr Ram Baran Yadav received the Doctor of Letters at the convocation held at the BHU today. "I thank Banaras Hindu University and India for this great honor," President Dr Yadav said.
The BHU held the convocation at the closing ceremony of the yearlong celebration of Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya's 150th birth anniversary, and has specially invited President Dr Ram Baran Yadav to join in the closing ceremony of the celebration of the birth anniversary, and receive the honorary Doctor of Letters.
Speaking at the same convocation, Indian President Pranab Mukherjee said, "It is a happy moment for all of us that we are commemorating this event by conferring the highest degree of the University on the Hon'ble President of Nepal, a country with which India has deep cultural affinity and historical ties."
President Dr Yadav is flying to New Delhi as a part of his five-day India visit and of meeting with the political leaders there. President Dr Yadav will be back to Nepal on December 29, 2012.
