Home Minister’s Security Plan To End Impunity

Issue 35, August 30, 2009

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

The state-run newspaper ‘Gorkhapatra’ of August 26, 2009, has published the news of its reporter sent from Kailaii stating while in the inspection of the flood affected areas in the Far-western Nepal Home Minister Bhim Rawal replying to the reporters questions has said that he has brought out the special security plan to end the impunity. Will Nepalis believe the Home Minster that the special security plan ends the impunity? For ending impunity he needs to bring the criminals to justice rather than covering them up.

The state-run newspaper ‘Gorkhapatra’ of August 26, 2009 in its page 13 under the title “Indian Security’s Harassment” has published the news stating that the members of the Indian Armed Security Force have been harassing the Nepalis living in the Nepalese territory on the Nepal-Border areas at the entry point in the Dang district of Far-western Nepal, they have been looting the livestock and even raping the innocent women. Home Minister Bhim Rawal has not been able to do anything on curbing such illegal activities of the foreign security force. He even has not shown interest in taking a look at the Nepalis’ sufferings inflicted by the Indians while he is in that area for inspecting the flood affected areas.
