Prime Minister Koirala’s Confessions
Issue 03, January 20, 2008
In an interview given to the Kantipur TV recently, Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala confessed that he was involved in making fake Indian currency while in exile in India in the early 1970s. Prime Minister Koirala also said that he headed a team of Nepali Congress leaders to hijack the Nepal Airlines flight from Kathmandu to Biratnagar in 1973 (to loot the money of the Nepal Bank the plane was carrying). He said that all this happened with the knowledge and consent of B P Koirala, Nepal's legendary socialist leader and the country's first elected Prime Minister. (CNN-IBN, Jan 17, 2008)
