President For Focusing The Budget On Peace And Constitution Writing

July 12, 2011: at the briefing meeting with the prime minister and deputy prime minister holding the finance portfolio held at his office yesterday, President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav has told Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal and his deputy Bharat Mohan Adhikari to focus the upcoming budget on the peace process and the constitution writing, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes.

The president also has asked them to formulate a new budget for the fiscal year 2011 (2068) following the political consensus on it. However, after attending the meeting called by Mr. Bharat Mohan Adhikari to discuss the new budget, NC cadre Dr. Ram Sharan Mahat has told the reporters that it is senseless to talk about the budget that has been already finalized.

One of the vice-chairmen of UCPN-Maoist Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has complained that the Ministry of Finance has not consulted his party for preparing the budget for the fiscal year 2011 (2068).
