British Minister Appreciates Nepal Election

Issue 16, April 20, 2008

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

Issuing a statement in Kathmandu, the British Embassy has quoted British Foreign Secretary David Miliband as saying, “it is important that all the political parties respect the will of the people and use agreed mechanisms to resolve any dispute. While I was saddened by the instances of violence and misconduct that occurred, the Election Commission's reports of huge turnout of voters are encouraging, as are the positive assessments of the conduct of the polls made by the European Union and other observer missions. I look forward to the formation of the CA and the government. The UK stands ready to assist in building the new Nepal," as stated in the news of the Himalayan Times Online of April 14, 2008.
