Chinese Delegation In Nepal

September 13, 2010: twenty-one-member Chinese delegation headed by Vice-premier and Secretary to the Secretariat of Central Committee of Communist Party of China (CPC) He Yong has arrived in Nepal on September 11, 2010 at the invitation of the political parties.

The Chinese delegation has called on President Ram Baran Yadav and Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal at their respective offices on Sunday, September 12, 2010.

In the meeting with the Nepalese President, they have discussed the current political situation in Nepal and the bilateral relations between the two countries. The Chinese delegation has thanked the President for the one-China policy the Government of Nepal has adopted. The delegation has extended a formal invitation to President Dr. Yadav to attend the closing ceremony of the ongoing Shanghai Expo in October this year.

In the meeting with officiating Prime Minister Madhav Nepal at his office in Singha Durbar, the Chinese delegation has said to the Nepalese Prime Minister that the Chinese delegation is happy with the one-China policy the Government of Nepal has adopted; the Chinese delegation has assured the Prime Minister of providing Nepal with all sorts of support required by Nepal for completing the ongoing peace process and constitution writing.

The Chinese delegation has also met with the leaders of the CPN-UML. The delegation has met with the UCPN-Maoist and NC leaders on the first day of its arrival in Nepal.

The Chinese delegation has visited Lord Gautam Buddha in Lumbini today morning and met with the monks and official of Lumbini Development Trust, then has gone to see Chenhuwa Gumba built with the fund provided by the Chinese and Temple of Maya Devi then they have flown to Pokhara today afternoon for sight seeing. They have stayed in the highly luxurious Hotel Fulbari Resort. They will be back to Kathmandu on Tuesday, September 14, 2010.
