Marking Second People’s Uprising On Saturday

April 6, 2013: the CPN-Maoist-Vaidhya is marking the Second People’s Uprising holding mass rallies in major cities across Nepal today, and at the same time using the same platform to protest against the Interim Election Council, according to THT ONLINE.
In Kathmandu, they hold a mass rally at Tundikhel. Chairman Mohan Vaidhy and General Secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa are scheduled to address the rally at 2:00 pm today.
Vice-chairman CP Gajurel is scheduled to address the Dhangadhi rally, General Secretary Netra Bikram Chand the Butwal rally, and Secretary Dev Prasad Gurung the Biratnagar rally. The party is also holding rallies in various districts, villages, municipalities and wards, according to spokesperson for the party Pampha Bhusal.
At the same platforms, they will protest against the formation of the Interim Election Council (IEC) led by Khil Raj Regmi, which they say is unconstitutional, and is the rubber stamp of the major four parties.
The CPN-Maoist-Vaidhya has been saying that it will boycott elections to be held by the IEC citing the IEC has no legitimacy to hold elections, as its very existence is unconstitutional.
