Ailing Girija Prasad Koirala

Issue 12, March 21, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

March 20, 2010: Nepali Congress President and Former Prime Minister for several terms Girija Prasad Koirala has been suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), so he has been on oxygen round the clock for the last few days. On Friday, March 19, 2010 his health condition has deteriorated due to diarrhea; doctors attending to him round-the-clock have managed to stop it but he has not been out of danger yet. He has come out of the Martyr Gangalal Heart Care Center on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 and has been staying with his daughter Sujata Koirala at Mandikhatar, Kathmandu. His health condition has not allowed him to travel abroad for better treatment according to the doctors.

Some political analysts think that absence of Koirala in the Nepalese political might adversely affect. However, many political analysts believe that the political course will take a better course than now when Koirala will not be playing any political game anymore. He has played a dirty political game making the provision for the majority rule instead of the consensus politics in the Interim Constitution of Nepal of 2007. Thanks to his political game we have the current political deadlock.
