About Forty People Killed In A Bus Accident

Issue 12, March 21, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

March 19, 2010: a bus traveling from Kalikot to Surkhet in the far western region of Nepal has fallen to the Karnali River: one of the largest rivers in Nepal. Apparently, the bus was traveling with over loaded passengers, as most of the passengers traveling on the rooftop of the bus survived jumping out of the falling bus.

According to the news reports, the newly built narrow road and the old bus have been attributed to the cause of the accident. Road accidents have been the daily events in Nepal due to the disregard of the government for repairing roads.
