Against Extending Term of Constituent Assembly

Recently in a statement, Human Rights and Civil Society activists have opposed the proposal for extending the term of the Constituent Assembly-cum-Legislature, and have said that it goes against the people’s aspirations for writing a new constitution within the deadline set for it. In the statement, they have also stated that the recent political development is positive however, it has not been convincing of the political leaders have been seriously engaged in crafting a new constitution.

One of the members of the Nepal Sadbhavana Party has registered the proposal for extending the term of the Constituent Assembly at the secretariat of the Constituent Assembly-cum-Legislature.
