By KTM Metro Reporter

March 20, 2012: Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai yesterday has sought explanations from Minister for Labor and Transport Management Sarita Giri for transferring Purna Chandra Bhattarai, the Managing Director of Foreign Employment Department, not following the rules and regulations but following others’ influence, Minister of State for Health and Population Saroj Kumar Yadav for roughing doctors up at the emergency ward of the state-run Bir Hospital on Sunday night allegedly under the influence of alcohol, and Minister of State for Land Reforms and Management Jwala Kumari Shah for accusing Land Reforms and Management Minister Bhim Prasad Gautam of irregularities in performing his duties, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes.

The Prime Minister has assured the public of taking actions against those ministers found guilty and enforcing the rule of law. However, it remains to be seen whether the ministers used to commit crimes with impunity would follow the rules and regulations, as Nepalese ministers have been more criminals than sincere elected officials.

Every quarter of the medical sector has condemned the inexcusable misdeeds of State Minister for Health and Population Saroj Kumar Yadav. Nepal Medical Association condemned the rude behavior of the minister of state as an act not fitting to the person holding such a high office in the administration. Health Professional Organizations of Nepal denounced the shameful act of the minister of state and urged the government for holding an investigation into the matter and taking appropriate action against the guilty person.

Minister for Irrigation Mahendra Prasad Yadav also has chided Secretary to his ministry Brinda Hada provoking strong reaction from the women lawmakers that have said the Minister’s behavior to such a woman of top bureaucratic position is unacceptable, as the minister has deliberately did so to demean the self-esteem of a woman bureaucrat.
