On November 24, 2009, the legislature has passed the Budget for the FY 2009 (2066) by the majority votes. Only two Maoist legislators were present at the legislature and they voted against the budget. The Maoist legislators have opened the legislature for three days for passing the budget. They will continue to block the business of the legislature again demanding the debate over the unconstitutional action of the President on directly writing a letter to the army chief.

At the time when Nepali Congress Girija Prasad Koirala has been dreaming of being the next President, spokesman for the Nepali Congress Arjunnarshing KC has said that the change in the government will be suicidal to his party.

On November 24, 2009, the delegation of the autonomous region of Tibet has met with the Chairman of United Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist (UCPN-Maoist) Prachanda at his party office in Kathmandu. During the meeting Chairman Prachanda has assured the 10-member delegation of not letting anybody use Nepal for anti-China activities.

On November 24, 2009, Prime Minister Madhav Nepal went to meet Chairman of Nepal Workers’ and Peasants’ Party Narayan Man Bijukchhe at his residence in Bhaktapur apparently for asking for voting for the budget for the FY 2009 (2066).

On November 24, 2009, speaking at the legislature, Home Minister has said that the law and order situation has improved but at his party meeting his colleagues have severely criticized him for not being able to enforce law and order in the country.

Speaking at the legislature, Minister for Energy Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat has said the Panchesvore Project has reached a new stage of implementation. The meeting between the Nepalese team and the Indian team recently held in Pokhara has decided to set up a Panchesvore Authority to implement the project. Some experts in energy have objected the agreement between the Indian and Nepalese teams on the Panchesvore project.

On November 24, 2009, the Commission On Investigation Into Abuse Of Authority (CIAA) has ordered Minister for Health Umakanta Chaudhary to annul the decision on transferring more than 900 staffs, as it does not follow the rules and regulations.

On November 24, 2009, the price of gold has reached Rs 28, 250 per 10 gm (Rs 32, 950 per tola) at the Kathmandu market. However, the sale of gold has increased due to the wedding season. (One tola = 11.664 gm)
