Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda Again In Limelight

November 23, 2013: despite the heavy defeat of the UCPN-Maoist in the elections to a new constituent assembly, Chairman Prachanda has been again in the limelight. First thing, he has won the seat in the constituent assembly from the terai area.
Ambassadors of the western countries went to meet him yesterday, and urged him to participate in the constituent assembly, and craft a new constitution. The diplomats have shown their concern about the statement issued by the UCPN-Maoist on the morning of Thursday, November 21, 2013 that had stated that the UCPN-Maoist would not take part in the constituent assembly, as the irregularities in the election process had been, and the election process should be reviewed suspending the counting of the votes but the Election Commission continued the voting counting.
President Dr Ram Baran Yadav also met with Chairman Prachanda at the presidential resident yesterday, and urged him to accept the people’s verdict, and take part in the constituent assembly, and craft a new constitution, and complete the peace process.
