Cold Wave Hits The Western Terai, And Hills

January 4, 2014: sun could not come out of the heavy fog in the western region for the last three days causing the unanticipated cold wave following the winter rains in the districts in this region, according to the RSS news on ‘gorkhapatraonline.com’.
The cold wave hit the families living in the open structures. Local administration has started homework to provide people with firewood to make bonfire for getting relief from the shivering cold.
People have rarely ventured out on the roads, markets, and even government offices unless for very emergency work. Number of cold-related patients including common cold, cough, typhoid, pneumonia, and respiratory problems has increased in the local hospitals.
Similarly, life in the hilly western region has been hard following the snowfall. According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), flights from Nepalgunj to Kathmandu, and hilly and mountain districts were suspended due to poor visibility, yesterday.
