CPN-Maoist Boycotting Elections But Not Using Force To Disrupt

October 11, 2013: the CPN-Maoist has decided to boycott the elections to a new CA scheduled for November 19, 2013 but it is not going to use the force to disrupt, according to the Radio Nepal morning news of today.

 

The CPN-Maoist will peacefully try to disrupt the elections. What does it mean the CPN-Maoist leaders have not stated.  However, previously General Secretary of CPN-Maoist Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal had demonstrated the breaking of a ballot box by a sledgehammer.

 

Threats from the CPN-Maoist cadres to the elections have been considerably reduced after the decision of the CPN-Maoist on not using force to disrupt the elections. Nepalis can anticipate peaceful elections.

 

However, Chairman Mohan Vaidhya quick to add that if the government uses force then his cadres will retaliate. So, violence could not be entirely precluded during the elections in the November.
