CPN-UML Seeks Clarification From PM
By KTM Metro Reporter
January 15, 2011: after a faction of the party led by Prime Minister Madhav Nepal and KP Oli gathered at the prime minister’s official residence at Baluwatar on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 to press Chairman Jhalanath Khanal to hold a central committee (CC) meeting, the Central Disciplinary Commission of CPN-UML has instructed Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, standing committee member KP Sharma Oli and party secretary Bishnu Paudel not to hold separate meetings without informing the party leadership, myrepublica.com writes today.
Quoting the party sources myrepublica.com writes that the CPN-UML leadership has taken the signature campaign lobbying for NC leader Ram Chandra Poudel for a new prime minister seriously when Chairman Khanal himself is for the prime ministerial post. "How can it be tolerable if senior leaders lobby in favor of an NC leader’s candidacy against the party’s unanimous decision," a leader close to Khanal said.
