Crafting A New Constitution of Nepal
KTM Metro Reporter
July 7, 2015: The Constituent Assembly (CA) elected for crafting a new constitution has passed today the preliminary draft constitution of Nepal to publish it in the State gazette for the public information and feedback from the people.
Chairman of CA gave a fifteen-day period for the feedback from the people. Nepalese, non-resident Nepalese and others interested in giving feedback have to take it up immediately and give their constructive feedback to the CA.
The RPP-Nepal of Mr. Kamal Thapa, and Khum Bahadur Khadka of the Nepali Congress have taken the issue of making Nepal a Hindu state to the streets. They have been on the streets braving the monsoon rains in Katmandu demanding to declare Nepal a Hindu state.
Madheshi leaders have said that as soon as the seventh constitution is promulgated, a movement for the eighth constitution will be initiated. Some of them have torn it up at the CA, and others had burnt it down on the streets. These were the violent reactions to the preliminary draft constitution. They could have done it peacefully and rationally giving their constructive feedback to the CA.
One thing Nepalese dissident political leaders always tend to declare a movement rather than being rational and going to the people for garnering the two-thirds majority required for an amendment to the constitution.
