Demands For Firing Defense Minister
By KTM Metro Reporter
September 28, 2011: Leader of NC Ram Chandra Poudel, some leaders of CPN-UML and Vice-chairman of UCPN-Maoist Mohan Vaidya ‘Kiran’ have demanded the Prime Minister to fire Defense Minister Sharad Singh Bhandari for his statement that the 22 district of Terai could be a separate and could make a decision on separation, which law could stop them in doing so.
These NC, CPN-UML and Mohan Vaidya ‘Kiran’ guys love to call themselves leaders of various political parties are just trying to find any excuse to cause embarrassment to the current government and divert its attention from the main tasks of completing the peace process and constitution writing. The current concern of the Defense Minister for the possibility of the people living Terai opting for a separate nation, so we need to have a law that would stop them from doing so, is the correct one and all Nepalis should be concerned with it very much and the parliament needs to formulate and pass a law preventing any people living in any parts of Nepal demanding for separation and making them subject to severe punishment.
In addition, any Nepalis have rights to express his or her concern for the possibility of such demands coming from the people living in the Terai if the government and political leaders fail in addressing their concerns.
If the Vaidya group of the UCPN-Maoist launches street protests as the local media have been telling the people, they would be certainly responsible for diverting the main issues of completing the peace process and the constitution writing to the not important issue, and for leading the country to the political chaos. Nepalis will never forgive not only Mohan Vaidya ‘Kiran’ but also other so-called leaders of NC and CPN-UML for not promulgating a new constitution on time. Vaidya and his group will be well off if they support the current government and pave the way for completing the peace process and the constitution writing.
