Implement House Resolutions

Issue 47, November 25, 2007

The state-run newspaper called ‘The Rising Nepal’ reported that on Sunday, November 18, 2007, addressing a mass meeting held at New Baneswor, Kathmandu by the Kathmandu district organization committee of the CPN-Maoist, senior leader of CPN-Maoist, Dr. Baburam Bhattarai said that the Nepali Congress leadership should either implement the resolutions of declaring Nepal a republic and adopting a proportional electoral system or turn over the power to other partners of the Seven Party Alliance (SPA). He claimed that better leadership could be sought from among the partners in the SPA to introduce and carry out policy and program conforming to the aspirations of the people and building grounds for holding a meaningful election for a Constituent Assembly (CA).
