December 1, 2010: an Indian company jointly with a Nepalese company has won the bid for constructing a recycling plant in Nepal and they are in the process of signing a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Local Development according to the news posted on the website called topnews.in/law quoting IANS.
Kathmandu Metropolitan Office faces a huge problem of disposing the trashes thrown by the Kathmanduites. Almost every few months, local people living nearby the garbage dumpsites put forward demands and stop the municipal garbage vehicles from dumping garbage causing huge uncollected garbage at the main city centers.
After the installation of a waste recycling plant, the Kathmandu Metropolitan office will not have problems of dumping the garbage and even can make money from selling the recycled materials. Thus, a recycling plant will help to preserve the environment and the metropolitan officers will not have much to deal with the local people for dumping and managing the waste disposal.
