Khanal Gets A Slap On Face

January 20, 2011: while attending a program held by his party in Itahari town in the Sunsari district, Chairman of CPN-UML Jhalanath Khanal has received a strong slap on his cheek from a cadre of his party Devi Prasad Regmi.
Apparently, non-suspecting Devi Prasad Regmi has approached Khanal and has hit him on the cheek strongly enough to send his eyeglasses flying and then hitting on the ground breaking into pieces. Chairman Khanal has lost the control for a moment but he has come back to normal within a minute.
Chairman Khanal has been one of the villains in the election to a new prime minister. In the name of working for the consensus politics he has put the election to a new prime minister on hold not voting in the election and letting the single NC candidate running indefinitely. So, he must have provoked some of the cadres of his own party by his stand on not participating in the voting for a new prime minister to attack him.
Getting a hit from his own cadre, Chairman Khanal has shown that the impatient Nepalis might go so far to vent their anger. So, other political leaders need to tighten the security to remain unhurt in the political or other programs they attend in view of their political activities that have been bitter to most of the Nepalis.
