Laying Foundation For Building A Monument Of Republic

March 27, 2012: Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has laid the foundation stone for building a monument of the Republic on premises of the Narayanhiti Durbar Museum today. After laying a foundation stone following the Vedic rituals, Prime Minister Dr. Bhattarai in a brief speech has said that the monarchy has come to an end in this place and the republic has born, too; so, this place is the most appropriate place to build a monument of the Republic.
Hinting to the decision made by the previous government of Madhav Nepal on changing the site of building a monument of the Republic, Prime Minister Dr. Bhattarai has said that during the last four years, government has come and gone; the government headed by chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda had made a decision on building a monument of the Republic in this place but the succeeding government changed this decision and shifted the site of this monument to some where else. He has said that now, he is glad to bring the site of the monument back to this place.
