Meeting of Nepalese and Indian Home Ministers At Airport

On August 21, 2009, Nepalese Home Minister Bhim Rawal went to meet with Indian Home Minister P. Chidambaram at the VVIP lounge of the International Airport in Kathmandu. Ostensibly, Indian Home Minister Chidambaram was traveling by the Bhutanese Airline called Druk Air to Thimpu, Bhutan via Nepal.

During the meeting Indian Minister Chidambaram has asked the Nepalese counterpart to expedite the signing of the Treaty of Extradition and setting up the Indian Security Force at the International Airport Kathmandu according to some local news. However, Home Minister Bhim Rawal did not disclose anything about the discussion he has had with the Indian counterpart but has said that he has simply exchanged some pleasantries with the Indian counterpart.
