More Than 115 Billion Rupees Foreign Assistance

September 22, 2013: Nepal has received more than 115 billion rupees worth of foreign assistance: both grants and loans from the international banks, international community and bilateral donor agencies for the development projects in the fiscal year 2012, according to the International Financial Assistance Coordination Division of the Ministry of Finance.
Out of the total assistance, 53.90 billion rupees is the grant assistance, and the remaining portion is the loan from the World Bank, and the Asian Development bank and so on, according to the news in ‘gorkhapatra’ of today.
Up until August 31 in this fiscal year, Nepal has received the foreign assistance of 3.49 billion rupees. Out of this amount, 149 million rupees is the grant and the remaining amount is the loan.
Majority of the foreign assistance has been for the development of energy. Other assistance has been for the sectors such as agriculture, commerce and supplies, environment protection, promotion of good governance, health, strengthening and improving the capacity of the home administration, and local development and supply of clean water, the ‘gorkhapatra’ writes.
