Issue 06, February 08, 2009

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

February 7, 2009: National Vigilance Center and Administrative Court are the two main institutions that are for disciplining the civil service. These institutions have been dormant since their establishment in early 2000s.

National Vigilance Center is for checking the regular service delivery done by the civil servants and then for advising the heads of the service delivery agencies to improve their performances. Recently, it has also started the surprise checking of the attendance of the staffs working at these offices.

Administrative Court is for taking up the cases of the civil servants, for overseeing whether the administrative actions have been taken following the rules and regulations or not and then advised the heads of institutions for taking actions against unruly civil servants.
